Hello. I believe we have met before. However, you hide me from others so much that I wouldn’t be surprised if you oftentimes forget about me. I know your deepest darkest secrets. I have seen you cry more than anyone. Laugh more than anyone. Evaluate tough decisions more than anyone. I am sure you would not tell anyone, not even the ones closest to you, what you tell me. For some reason, I feel the need to constantly listen. Well, I suppose I have no other choice. You can say that is my purpose.
However, on a deeper level, my purpose is to really uncover who you are. Not the person that you are misleading others with, allowing them to believe that is the “real you.” Quit lying. I know the real you, and it looks nothing like what others see. I just wish you would assume your real identity instead of this make-believe, fairy tale one that even your closest friends would swear by.
Call me crazy, but I am going to keep listening to you. However, like I said, I have no other choice. I just hope that you make the best of it, and finally tell someone else the things that you tell me. There is someone who is just waiting to wipe your tears and dry your eyes. Waiting to give you pointers on your path of pursuing your purpose. Longing to give you full access to their shoulder, and encourage you at the lowest moments. I apologize, but I can’t do that. What I can do, though, is help you realize that you are better by the words that you say, and help you change the lens you are wearing, in hopes to look at yourself from a different perspective.
You are better than what I see and others don’t. In fact, your true strength will come when you finally have the courage to tell others who you trust – just as much as you trust me – what you tell me everyday. Only then will you experience freedom and gain genuine confidence. You will also be able to share the experiences we had with each other to others, and help those with the same issues that you once had.
Oh, by the way… MY NAME IS MIRROR.
